Who Can Become a Tutor?
Anyone 18 years of age or older who is interested in
teaching an adult to read in the St. Petersburg or
Seminole areas.
What does the Workshop Teach Me?
The 10-hour workshop provides instruction in ESOL
(English as a Second or Other Language) and the Laubach
Method used for teaching an adult how to read. At the
end of the workshop, tutors are certified as ESOL and/or
Laubach tutors and are assigned to a school location
with a student in the St. Petersburg or Seminole areas.
What is Provided at the Workshop?
Each potential tutor will receive books and other
teaching materials for working with a student when
assigned to a school location. A light lunch will be
provided during Saturday’s workshop session. |
